JOB Preparation: Job & Company analysis

When you write cover letter or prepare the interview, it would be better to know information about the company as much as you can. There could be a question about the company to evaluate how much applicants are interested in the company and the position. Therefore, job and company analysis should be preceded before you write cover letter or prepare the interview. In this post, I will let you know the way of analysing job and company.

1. Analyse all the matters of the company

All the matters of the company are name of representative, sales scale, fields of business and the right people for the company. For example, if you apply department store, the questions would be 'how many stores are all over the country', 'what is the composition of department store by floor', 'which store records the best sales' and so on. Like this, all the matters of the company should be organized briefly.

2. Analyse a job (the position) you apply

Analysing a job and the position can be efficient with SWOT analysis based on international environment of the company. SWOT analysis means analysing strength, weakness, opportunity and threat. That is, you shoud know what the strength and weakness of the company are and what the opportunity and threat according to the change of the market are. In this step, it would be better way to analyse not only objective aspect, but subjective (consumer) aspect. Also, product and service swot analysis is needed as well as the company. Furthermore, it is perfect to think about improvement direction based on a successful case of a leading company.

3. The newest issues about the company

Applicants have to know a neww undertaking project of the company and the events that can affect the company's environment. Therefore, reading the news and think about how it influences on the company.
